The report "affordability of ICT Services in 2022" released by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) not long ago shows that the global price of ICT services returned to a downward trend in 2022, and ICT services became more affordable and gradually got rid of the impact of the epidemic.

According to ITU data, in 2022, China's fixed broadband access cost as a share of monthly per capita gross national income (GNI) further decreased to 0.45% from 0.5% in the previous year, and ranked second in the world from the third in the previous year.

In other words, in terms of fixed broadband cost burden, China is the second lowest in the world. In terms of mobile broadband cost burden, China is also far lower than the global average, and there has been a significant improvement compared with the previous year.

At present, the cost burden of fixed broadband users in China is far lower than that of Singapore (0.64%, ranking seventh in the world), the United States (0.93%, global 28th), Germany (0.98%, global 29th), South Korea (1.03%, global 32nd), Japan (1.06%, global 35th), etc.

Previously, the three major operators said that in order to popularize the gigabit express belt, their fees are falling rapidly, and the current prices in some cities may already be tens of yuan per month, while this fee reduction is still under way.
